Press statement from the Albanian embassy in Kuwait On 21.01.2015, the Albanian government made the decision to waive visas for citizens of the State of Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. This decision entered into force on 02.02.2015. So, this means that Kuwaiti citizens can travel to Albania only with the means of identification, passport. They can stay in Albania for a period of time up to 90 days within 6 months. This decision was taken immediately after the visit of the Prime Minister of Albania, ShTZ. Edi Rama, in the State of Kuwait, on November 18-20, 2014, a visit which was of great importance in strengthening the bilateral relations between Albania and Kuwait. The free movement of citizens will lead to an increase in trade exchanges and tourist visits by citizens from both countries. Albania is also paying special attention to the development of tourism, due to its favorable geographical position with a coastline of 400 km and many sites included in the UNESCO heritage. It is also worth mentioning recent surveys such as of the “New York Times” newspaper in 2014, which lists Albania fourth out of 52 places to visit, and Lonely Planet places Albania among the 10 best tourist destinations in the world. We believe that the removal of visas throughout the year for Kuwaiti citizens will encourage Kuwaiti investors to enter the Albanian market, which has a very favorable business environment. Recently, many Kuwaiti business companies have expressed their interest in doing business in Albania, they have already visited the country, thus making assessments on their areas of interest. Also, it is worth mentioning that during his official visit last November, the Albanian Prime Minister was accompanied by a large business delegation. The priorities for investments in Albania set by the government are in the field of renewable energy, mining industry, tourism, production, agriculture, etc. Also, the Albanian embassy informs all foreign citizens who have a Schengen, USA or United Kingdom visa and have traveled at least once to these countries that they do not need an Albanian visa.
