Today, on June 5, 2018, at his request, Ambassador Saimir Bala was received in a meeting by the Assistant Minister for European Affairs of the Kuwaiti MFA Amb. Walid Alkhobaizi. The purpose of the meeting was to exchange views on bilateral relations.
Ambassador Bala, among other things, spoke about the readiness of our side to sign the agreement between the Diplomatic Academies of our two countries.
Assistant Minister Alkhobaizi, among other things, said that the relations between the two countries are excellent. Regarding the Joint Intergovernmental Commission Mr. Alkhobaizi continued that holding the commission as a very important activity has been postponed by our side for objective reasons. However, he underlined, in order to precede the holding of the commission, we suggest that we hold diplomatic consultations between our MFAs in Tirana. As for the official visit of the President of the Republic of Albania, HE Ilir Meta, to Kuwait, he said, it has been postponed for objective reasons of the agenda of the Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
In the following days, our side will announce concrete date proposals for the realization of this visit, which I believe will be after the summer holidays. It would be effective, underlined Mr. Alkhobaizi, that diplomatic consultations be held before President Meta’s visit to Kuwait. In the end, he also talked about the touristic opportunities and potential that Albania offers. In this context, he underlined that Kuwaitis want to spend their holidays in Albania, and suggested that in addition to the very good work done by the Albanian embassy here for the promotion of touristic values, in the future the opportunity should be seen from the Albanian state institution that deals with tourism to invite a group of Kuwaiti tourist operators for a visit to Albania.
