Prime Minister Rama at the EU–Western Balkans Summit in Tivat

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, attended the European Union–Western Balkans Summit on June 5, 2026, held in Tivat, Montenegro. The summit brought together leaders of the European Union and the Western Balkan countries for a meeting focused on strengthening the strategic partnership and advancing the region’s European integration process.
The meeting was held under the theme “Shared Prosperity and Stability of the EU and the Western Balkans,” with discussions focusing on the European Union enlargement process, the gradual integration of the countries of the region into the EU market and policies, as well as the implementation of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. The summit was also attended by European Council President António Costa, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.
Prime Minister Rama’s participation in the Tivat Summit reaffirmed Albania’s commitment to accelerating its European path and achieving deeper integration of the Western Balkans into the structures of the European Union. The summit also represented an important opportunity to discuss the region’s European perspective, stability, and economic cooperation, at a time when EU enlargement has returned to the center of the European strategic agenda.
