Mimoza Halimi
Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Poland
From January 10, 2024 – Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of Poland, and Ambassador non-resident to the Republic of Estonia, to the Republic of Latvia and to the Republic of Lithuania.
From 2021 to 2023 – Director of the Department of the Americas, Asia and Africa in the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEFA).
From 2018 to 2021 – General Director for Political and Security Issues in the Ministry.
From 2014 until 2018- Director of the Department of Europe and Central Asia in the MEFA.
From 2007 to 2014 – Ambassador of the republic of Albania/Head of the Mission of the Republic of Albania to the European Union, Brussels, Belgium.
From 2007 to 2010 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiaryof the Republic of Albania to the Kingdom of Belgium (resident) and to the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg (non-resident).
From 2006 to 2007 – Director of Europe, Americas and Russia Directorate, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From 2004 to 2006 – Deputy Head of the Mission of Albania to the European Union in Brussels.
From 2000 to 2001- Director General for the Euro-Atlantic Cooperation in the MFA.
From 1997 to 2001 – Mrs. Halimi has held different positions in the MFA, as Head of the Multilateral Initiatives, National Coordinator for the Central European Initiative (CEI), National Coordinator for the South-East European Initiative(SECI), etc.
Born in Tirana, Albania, in 1969, Mimoza Halimi holds degrees of Bachelor and Master of Arts, both in Economics and in International Relations.
She speaks fluent English, French, Russian and has a comprehension of German language.
Ambassador Mimoza Halimi has been bestowed the dignity of the “Grand Cross of the Order of the Crown”, ordered by the King of Belgium, H.R. Albert II.
She is married and proud mother of a daughter and a son.
