Ambassador of the Republic of Albania, Mimoza Halimi, is on a working visit to the Pomerania Region of Poland. During her visit to the city of Gdynia, Ambassador Halimi was welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of Gdynia, Mr. Bartłomiej Austen. Ambassador Halimi also held meetings with the Deputy President of the Port of Gdynia, Mrs. Katarzyna Gruszecka-Spychała.
The discussions focused on the development of port infrastructure in Albania, especially in Durrës and Vlora, as well as exchanging experiences in the field of modernization, sharing expertise through study visits, and participating in joint European projects.
The program also included meetings with the Rector of the Gdynia Maritime University – Prof. Captain Adam Weintrit, as well as with the vice rectors, where cooperation in the field of maritime sciences with the universities of Vlora and Durrës was discussed.
The Ambassador also visited the Municipality of Sopot, where she had the pleasure of meeting with Deputy Mayor Michał Banacki, as well as the Municipality of Gdańsk, where she met Deputy Mayor Piotr Borawski. Furthermore, she visited the Pomerania Voivodeship Office, where she had the opportunity to discuss with Mrs. Agnieszka Baranowska – Member of the Board of the Pomerania Region, Mrs. Monika Zdroik – Deputy Director for International and Interregional Cooperation at the Department of Economic Development, and Mrs. Katarzyna Matuszak-Dzierżyńska – Director of the Entrepreneurship Development and Pomerania Development Department.
The meetings focused on exploring ways to strengthen cooperation at the local government level in areas such as tourism, vocational education, business and investment opportunities, city twinning, culture, and more.
