While in Brussels, I was very pleased to meet with Andreas Schieder, Rapporteur for Albania in the European Parliament.

I thanked him warmly for his excellent work and continued commitment regarding the recent Resolution on Albania adopted by the AFET Committee, which sends a strong and encouraging message in support of our European accession path.

We exchanged views on the progress of Albania’s EU negotiations process, the importance of sustaining the current reform momentum, and our shared objective of advancing Albania’s European future through a credible, merit-based and forward-looking process.

Albania highly values the important role and continued support of the European Parliament and all friends of enlargement who believe in a stronger, more united and forward-looking Europe.
