Ambassador Enkeleda Merkuri received the Vice President of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic Mrs. Andrea Moravčíková (March 9, 2022). The main topic of the meeting was the establishment of cooperation in the exchange of judicial information, the discussion of the current development of the judiciary in both countries, but also the discussion of the conditions for the selection of judges or reforms in justice. Ambassador Merkuri and Vice President Moravčíková shared the opinion on the importance of training judges and prosecutors, especially in European law. The meeting also discussed recommendations regarding Albania’s EU membership in the field of justice and the rule of law, where the Vice-President of the Supreme Court expressed her willingness to cooperate and share with Albania the experience of Slovakia’s EU accession.
