Under the patronage of KM Stefan Löfven, the International Forum on Holocaust Remembrance and Combating Antisemitism is organized today in Malmö.
Heads of state and prime ministers of various countries have been invited to this activity.
A delegation from Albania, headed by the Prime Minister Mr. Edi Rama, who is accompanied by the Ambassador of RSH to the Kingdom of Sweden, Mr. Virgil Kule.
Although anti-Semitism should remain in history, we see it spreading in today’s society, in Europe and beyond. Hatred of Jews is encountered even in our time, in extreme right groups, in certain leftist groups and in Islamic circles. Meanwhile, we see conspiracy theories on social media and how the memory of the Holocaust is distorted and exploited for political purposes.
It is the duty of all countries to oppose anti-Semitism. An important part of this is commemorating the Holocaust, which becomes more difficult now that Holocaust survivors are aging and will soon be unable to share their experiences. By remembering and taking action against anti-Semitism today, we ensure that events like the Holocaust never happen again.
