Developing tourism in Albania while preserving the country’s nature, identity and authenticity was the central theme of the panel “Albania’s Tourism Boom – Growth and Sustainability”, organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Switzerland and the Albanian Students Association at the University of St. Gallen (ASA-HSG).

Ambassador Ermal Dredha, Director General of Albania’s National Tourism Agency Jola Hysaj, and Prof. Dr. Pietro Beritelli offered perspectives from diplomacy, tourism policy and academia. The discussion addressed the Tourism Strategy 2030, the challenges of rapid growth and Switzerland’s experience in destination management.

Following the panel, Ambassador Dredha and Director General Hysaj discussed opportunities for academic cooperation and exchanges of expertise with Prof. Beritelli, with the aim of providing practical support for sustainable tourism development in Albania.
