On 28 November 2024, the Embassy of Albania in Turkey organized a solemn reception in Ankara to commemorate the 112th Anniversary of Albania’s Independence, National Flag Day and the 80th Anniversary of Liberation from Nazi-Fascist Occupation. At the event, Ambassador Ms. Blerta Kadzadej emphasized the historical importance of these dates, which represent key moments in national history and reflect the sacrifices of the Albanian people for freedom and dignity.
During her speech, the Ambassador underlined the role of the Albanian Armed Forces as a national pride, which represent the commitment to security, freedom and peace at the national and international levels, including the important contribution as an ally in NATO. She also spoke about Albania’s efforts towards integration into the European Union, reiterating the goal for the country to become a full member by 2030, based on important reforms and strategic partnerships.
The Ambassador noted the extraordinary transformation of the tourism sector in Albania, noting that over 10 million tourists visited the country in 2024, including 300,000 visitors from Turkey. She also emphasized the excellent relations between Albania and Turkey, which are built on deep historical ties and a stable strategic partnership. She described 2024, characterized by high-level visits and new bilateral agreements, as a very successful year for strengthening cooperation in various fields, such as economy, trade, infrastructure, education and defense. In conclusion, the Ambassador thanked the Turkish people for their continued hospitality and support, and greeted her compatriots with the warmest congratulations on the Albanian Flag and Independence Day. She described this holiday as a moment of national pride and unity for all Albanians.
