Message of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, on the social network X:
March 8 returns every year as a powerful reminder of the strength that keeps families, communities, and societies together: the resilience, determination, and vision of #women and #girls.
In Albania’s Foreign Service, this strength is visible every day.
Today, women constitute the majority in our Diplomatic Corps; many of them hold key leadership positions—including all three Deputy Ministers, a number of women ambassadors, and members of the senior leadership team—contributing to shaping Albania’s engagement in the world. Through their professionalism, dedication, and leadership, they make a decisive contribution to advancing our priorities, dialogue, and cooperation.
Albania is particularly proud to have placed the Women, Peace and Security agenda at the center of its work during its mandate on the United Nations Security Council. Promoting the meaningful participation of women in peace and security processes, protecting their rights, and ensuring that their voices are heard in decision-making remain essential commitments of our foreign policy.
On this #InternationalWomen’sDay, on behalf of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, I express my deep gratitude to all the women who serve our country with integrity and dedication—often in difficult and challenging environments—and extend my warmest wishes to all women and girls in Albania and around the world.
