I would like to start by congratulating you for taking over the role of the President of the Executive Board of UN Women. You can count on Albania’s support in successfully fulfilling your mandate!

I would also like to thank all outgoing members of the Executive Board for their work and leadership in bringing forward the vision of a more just and equitable world by empowering women and girls.

Madame President,
I am honoured to represent Albania as a member of the Executive Board of UN Women and take over from Poland as a representative of the EEG in the Bureau.
As a member of this esteemed board, Albania will work tirelessly to advocate for the rights and well-being of women and girls around the world. We will strive to address the systemic barriers and inequalities that prevent women from fully participating in all aspects of society. We will actively engage in shaping policies and programs that promote gender equality, eliminate discrimination, and ensure that women and girls have equal access to education, health care, economic opportunities, and leadership roles.

Distinguished Colleagues,
As we mark this year the thirtieth anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the responsibility we are taking over today is at the same time a privilege, which we commit to translate in meaningful contribution to build the needed energy and the positive engagement on the Beijing+30 process across all member states and other stakeholders.

Albania is dedicated to working in partnership with all members of the Executive Board and deliver on the implementation of the strategic vision of UN Women.

We look forward to working collaboratively with all of you, with the Executive Director and the Secretary to achieve our shared goals.
