On April 20, 2026, Ambassador Sami Shiba met and discussed with the Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires of the United States in Egypt, H.E. Robert Silverman, about bilateral cooperation, regional and international developments, while participating in the reception organized on the occasion of assuming his duties as Chief of Mission of the United States in Cairo.

Together we appreciated and reaffirmed the strong and enduring partnership between our two countries, our close cooperation and longstanding friendship, as well as our steadfast alliance within NATO. For Albania the United States remains a key ally and strategic partner.

Referring to regional and global security developments, including the current situation in the Middle East, Silverman thanked Albania for participating in the Board of Peace, as well as for the commitment to contribute to Gaza. We confirmed that Albania stands firmly with its allies in supporting efforts to prevent the Iranian regime from acquiring nuclear or other weapons of mass destruction and to safeguard regional and international peace. We also exchanged views on our continued collaboration.
