Institutional cooperation and dialogue between Albania and Greece continue to deliver tangible results in the protection, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.

A delegation of experts from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, the National Institute for the Registration of Cultural Heritage, the National Institute of Cultural Heritage and the Butrint Management Foundation, accompanied by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania, conducted a working visit to the National Archaeological Museum in Athens.

The visit took place within the framework of the procedures for the return to Albania of two archaeological objects originating from the Archaeological Museum of Butrint.

During the visit, Albanian archaeologists and experts had the opportunity to examine the objects at first hand and exchange technical and professional information with their Greek counterparts. This cooperation contributes to the continued advancement of the relevant procedures and to the completion of the process for the return of the objects to Albania.

The process highlights the importance of dialogue and the shared commitment of the relevant institutions of both countries to the protection of cultural heritage, while further strengthening Albanian-Greek cooperation in combating the illicit trafficking and trade of cultural property.
