On 10 December, Tirana hosted the fifth edition of the Tirana Economic Forum, a well-established platform for dialogue that brought together decision-makers, experts, and representatives from strategic sectors in panels focused on the country’s economic vision and concrete projects promoting sustainable regional development.

The forum opened with the participation of the Prime Minister, Mr. Edi Rama; the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ms. Elisa Spiropali; the Minister of Economy and Finance, Ms. Delina Ibrahimaj; the Minister of Defense, Mr. Pirro Vengu; as well as deputy ministers and the Secretary General for International Economic Relations and Extroversion of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Dimitris Skalkos, together with senior officials from public institutions. Diplomats, investors, civil society representatives, academics, chambers of commerce, entrepreneurs, and experts from Albania, Greece, and abroad also attended, providing in-depth analyses on economic development perspectives and regional cooperation.



Discussions focused on Albania’s economic transformation, a process supported by innovation, technology, digitalization, and the growth of value-added production. Speakers emphasized the strategic role of clean energy and highlighted Albania’s goal to become a net energy exporter by 2030. The forum also stressed the importance of strengthening the investment climate and increasing the presence of “Made in Albania” products in European markets.

The Ambassador of Albania to Greece, Ms. Luela Hajdaraga, accompanied by the Economic and Trade Officer, Ms. Joana Zhonga, attended the forum, underlining the importance of this platform in expanding Albanian-Greek economic cooperation and reinforcing Tirana’s role as a key center for regional dialogue.
