As part of strengthening city diplomacy, the Mayor of Tirana, Mr. Erion Veliaj, was received in a meeting by the Mayor of Athens, Mr. Haris Doukas. The meeting aimed to enhance cooperation in tackling common current challenges.

During this visit, Mayor Veliaj, who is also the Chairman of the B40 Balkan Cities Network, participated as a speaker at the conference titled “Athens at the Center of Urban Climate Resilience and Energy Transition,” held at the American College of Greece in Athens. At this conference, the mayors shared their perspectives and experiences, and exchanged best practices related to climate resilience and urban energy transition.

Mayor Veliaj’s visit concluded with his attendance at the premiere screening of the film “Dy gisht mjaltë 2” (Two Fingers of Honey 2), where he met and conversed with the producer/lead actor Mr. Ermal Mamaqi, the film’s actors, and Albanian citizens who attended the screening.
