President of the Republic Bajram Begaj visited Ulcinj on August 5 and 6, where he attended the opening ceremony of the 25th edition of the Book Fair. In his remarks, President Begaj highlighted the importance of books and the Albanian language in preserving culture and identity, emphasizing that books should be treated as a national priority.
During his stay in Ulcinj, President Begaj met with the Mayor of Ulcinj, Genci Nimanbegu. Their discussions focused on the development of Ulcinj, municipal projects, challenges facing the area, and strengthening cooperation between Albanian and Montenegrin institutions. President Begaj also praised Ulcinj’s important role as a center of the Albanian community in Montenegro.
The Head of State also held a meeting with representatives of the Albanian political parties in Ulcinj, discussing issues related to the representation and rights of Albanians in Montenegro. President Begaj reaffirmed Albania’s support for the Albanian community and stressed the importance of preserving its language, culture and identity, emphasizing that Ulcinj and other municipalities with Albanian communities remain important bridges of cooperation between Albania and Montenegro.
