The University of Montenegro has adopted amendments to the regulations governing the recognition of foreign educational qualifications, simplifying and speeding up the procedures for the recognition and equivalence of diplomas.
Under the new rules, candidates will no longer be required to arrange and pay for the translation of documents issued in languages officially used in Montenegro, including Albanian. The translation will instead be provided by the University itself, significantly reducing the financial costs and administrative barriers faced by students.
This change is particularly important for Albanian students who have completed their studies in Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia, who until now have faced additional costs and procedures for translating their academic documents into Montenegrin.
This issue has been closely followed by the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Montenegro and addressed in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Montenegro. The Embassy expressed its appreciation for the readiness and commitment of Minister Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović in addressing this issue and finding a concrete solution in the interest of Albanian students.
This decision represents an important step toward easing academic and administrative procedures for Albanian students, as well as another example of institutional cooperation between Albania and Montenegro in the field of education.
