The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, H.E.Ms.. Olta Xhaҁka announced today that starting from May 14, 2021, Albania takes over the one-year Presidency of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative (EUSAIR), after the successful Chairmanship of the OSCE and the Organization for the Black Sea Economic Union.

Ambassador of Albania serves as President of the Women Ambassadors Group to The Netherlands (2020-2021)

The Ambassador of the Republic of Albania, Mrs. Adia Sakiqi who serves as President of the Group of Women Ambassadors to the Netherlands,  has held a series of virtual meetings during 2021 between the group of women ambassadors and various Dutch politicians and experts.
The Women Ambassadors Group to the Netherlands is an active group of 41 women ambassadors accredited in the Netherlands and Belgium, who network and periodically meet with Dutch political stakeholders and civil servants in order to discuss topics of mutual interest. 

Nineteenth Assembly of State Parties to the Rome Statute - International Criminal Court

On December 14-16, 2020, the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in The Hague participates in the proceedings of the nineteenth session of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC). As a State Party, the Republic of Albania supports the reforms undertaken by the Court, in order to enhance efficiency, further the fight against international crimes, and offer full protection and justice to the victims.

The 25th Conference of States Parties to the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW)

On November 30 and December 1, the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Albania in the Netherlands participated in the 25th session of the Conference of the States Parties in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). During the proceedings of the Conference, the budget of the organization for 2021 was approved, among other items.

Despite COVID-19 restrictions this year, Albania remains committed to strengthening the universality of the  destruction of chemical weapons worldwide #CSP25
