110 Anniversary of diplomatic relation between Albania and Romania

110 years ago today Albania and Romania established diplomatic ties. Our collaboration as NATO allies and partners our path has thrived, anchored in shared values of peace, security, and regional stability.
 
As we celebrate this milestone we remain committed to strengthening our bond in various areas including Albania's integration path and bringing forth fruitful outcomes for countries and people.

Albania, the undisputable advocate of Kosovo

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, received in Tirana the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla.
During the meeting, Minister Xhaçka mentioned that Albania will continue to raise its voice for Kosovo and make it part of every discussion.

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, held a meeting with the Minister of the United Kingdom for Europe, Wendy Morton. The focus of the discussions was the strengthening of bilateral cooperation with a focus on economic and trade relations, as well as the commitment  to cooperate on priorities at the UN Security Council.
Minister Xhaçka stressed that the United Kingdom is an important friend of Albania and an ally of the Western Balkans.

Tirana Connectivity Forum, Xhaçka: Open Balkans, the only way for the region development

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated in the 7th edition of the ‘Tirana Connectivity Forum’, where she emphasized that the potential presented by the Open Balkans is one of the biggest advantages that the region can offer.

Minister Xhaçka meets OSCE Chairperson-in-Office: EU should reflect, visible progress in the region should not be neglected

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, received in a meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Ann Linde, who visited Albania in her capacity as OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.
Minister Xhaçka praised the Swedish Presidency of the OSCE in leading the organization and for the support shown to Albania and the countries of the Western Balkans, for fulfilling important reforms.

UN, Minister Xhaçka meets with the Secretary General: Prevention, the driving theme of multilateral diplomacy in every field

On the week of the high level meetings of the 76th session of the General Assembly, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, and the Albanian delegation, followed by the Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi and the Albanian Ambassador to the UN, Besiana Kadare, met with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres.
Minister Xhaçka emphasized that Albania strongly believes in the role of multilateral diplomacy, while expressing the readiness to cooperate with Guterres to advance the common priorities during Albania's mandate in the Security Council.

High level meetings in New York, Xhaçka: Proud of Albania’s commitment to multilateralism and peace

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, attended the high level meeting of the 76th session of the UNGA in New York, in which was also present the President of the United States, Joe Biden.
Via a Facebook post, Minister Xhaçka expressed pride in Albania's commitment to multilateralism and peaceful resolution of conflicts.

New York, Xhaçka Meets U.S. Ambassador to UN: Albania, a valuable partner and ally, appreciation for the support to the Afghans

During her stay in New York, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, held a meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield. 
Ambassador Greenfield valued the humanitarian support that Albania has provided to Afghan citizens, as well as ensured cooperation with an ally and valuable partner like Albania, during our country's mandate in the UN Security Council. 

Meeting with WB Foreign Ministers / Xhaçka: Western Balkans need concrete steps from EU

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated in the online meeting with the Foreign Ministers of the Western Balkan countries, in the framework of the next EU-Western Balkans summit, which will be held in Brdo.
During her speech, Minister Xhaçka stressed the need for clear messages and concrete steps regarding the European perspective of the Western Balkans.
