20/07/2020 - The Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj participated in a meeting with three foreign ministers of the Baltic countries, Foreign Minister of Lithuania, Linas Linkevičius, Foreign Minister of Estonia, Urmas Reinsalu and with Foreign Minister of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs.
In this meeting the ministers discussed in details on the work that Albania is doing to implement all the tasks before the First Intergovernmental meeting.
“The Baltic countries fully support holding the First Intergovernmental Conference, by valuing deeply the achievements of Albania especially those in the justice reform and the fight against organized crime and corruption.”- Cakaj expressed in a Facebook post.
Chief Diplomat Cakaj emphasized that conversation also focused on common efforts to strengthen peace and to solve conflicts within OSCE and NATO cooperation.
“It is also worth mentioning that the Baltic countries strongly support the candidacy of Albania as a non-permanent member of the Security Council for 2022-2023.”- concluded Cakaj in his post.
