Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj had a meeting with the Heritage Foundation’s Vice President James Jay Carafano and the Foundation’s team of foreign policy, security, and economy experts.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss geo-political developments in the Balkan region, and the challenges facing the region, as well as the need for USA’s attention and presence in the region.
Acting Minister Cakaj gave a general overview of the current developments in the region, underlining that it is important for the countries in the region to have an European agenda, and further pursue their cooperation for the purpose of that agenda.
The Heritage Foundation’s experts appreciated the overview provided by Acting Minister Cakaj, and expressed their willingness to continue cooperation so as to promote the American administration policy towards the importance of American leadership in the Western Balkans region.
