Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated in a video conference at the 131st session of the Foreign Ministers Committee of the Council of Europe, which marked the end of the rotating Presidency of the CoE held by Germany.
Minister Xhaçka stressed that Albania strongly believes in multilateralism and finding solutions, promoting the values of the CoE in consolidating democracy and promoting human rights.
Chief diplomat Xhaçka praised the CoE's role in providing recommendations and solutions to ensure fundamental rights, and congratulated Hungary, which will take over the presidency for the next six months.
"We are convinced that our organization has played an important role in our region. We welcome the contribution of the Council of Europe to be in line with the standards and European Union legislation in the context of the enlargement process. We are committed to continue with the internal reforms, waiting for the holding of the first Intergovernmental Conference of Albania with the EU", said Minister Xhaçka during the meeting.
