“Colours of Albania 2016” contest awarding ceremony
 
22 December 2016, the awarding ceremony of “Colours of Albania 2016” contest was held. 
The initiative was first promoted in 2015 and following the tradition created, this year it raised the interest of foreign and Albanian public who participated in the photographic competition on social media, everyone playing their role as "Ambassadors of our country" accordingly. Over the entire summer season, more than 10,000 photos were captured by the camera lens thus promoting the Albanian beauty through the eyes of citizens, youth or photography enthusiasts.
The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister Niko Peleshi, cabinet ministers and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Albania.
#ColoursofAlbania contest is a platform for the support of the Albanian "digital diplomats" around the world in promoting lively, historic and cultural Albania.
In conclusion, the jury composed of professional photographers selected 10 best pictures, which will be part of a booklet that will be distributed to all Albanian representations throughout the world.
First prize for 2016 was won by Agron Nimani. Ina Kraja and Erald Memishahi were awarded with two second prizes and Anila Ametaj, Fjolla Besimi and Paolo Gazzotti won three third prizes.
#ColoursofAlbania is supported by the ambassadors of Albanian culture and image in the world: the National Football Team, Saimir Pirgu, Ermonela Jaho, Olen Çezari, Kledi Kadiu and Rafting Albania Federation.
In his remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister Peleshi dwelt on the importance of this next generation Albania initiative for promoting the values and beauty of the country, and on the opportunities that technology provides to increase human capacity to communicate with others.
Minister Bushati underlined that this initiative aims at improving the image of Albania and highlighting our values. Photographs of this edition display different parts of Albania reflecting the energy and vitality of our people, culture and historical heritage, as well as our wonderful nature.
