Albania elected member of the UNDP / UNFPA / UNOPS Executive Board for the period 2017-2019 On April 5, 2016, Albania was elected member of the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Programme, the UN Population Fund and the UN Office for Project Services (UNDP / UNFPA / UNOPS) for the period 2017-2019. The election of Albania in this important leading institution is proof of its active engagement in the framework of UN development agencies, especially after the adoption of the Transformative Agenda for Sustainable Development 2030. Albania's membership to the Executive Board of UNDP / UNFPA / UNOPS is a commitment for tangible contribution, which our country is expected to provide in areas of sustainable development, democratic governance, protection of human rights, empowerment of women and protection of rights of vulnerable groups, strengthening of world peace, etc.
