Minister Bushati paid an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati paid an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
This visit aimed at intensifying political dialogue, promoting economic cooperation between the two countries as well as enhancing cooperation in issues related to international security and the fight against terrorism.

Minister Bushati was received by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan Nasser Judeh and held a special meeting with King Abdullah II.

During the meeting with Foreign Minister Judeh, they assessed the very good political relations and focused on identifying opportunities for the increase of economic and business cooperation, as well as for the signing of agreements needed in view of this cooperation. Interlocutors expressed their willingness and interest to work in the establishment of institutionalized links between business communities of both countries.

Ministers Bushati and Judeh underlined the importance of cooperation in international organizations and the need for mutual support. Furthermore, during the meeting, they exchanged views on regional developments, focusing on security issues, the fight against terrorism, violent extremism and the refugee crisis caused by the war in Syria. Ministers highlighted the importance of the exchange of successful experiences on religious tolerance and agreed upon a series of steps and joint activities to be carried out in this regard.

The fight against terrorism and organized crime were two other important areas where both countries have enhanced their cooperation. In this context, Minister Bushati praised the fruitful cooperation of Jordan with NATO.

At the reception hosted by King Abdullah II, Minister Bushati praised the important contribution of his Majesty to stability and peace in the Middle East region as well as the attention paid to the Balkans.

His Majesty King Abdullah stated that the Balkan region is a European region, with a strategic importance for the peace and stability of the entire Mediterranean. In this context, the role of Albania and the values of the Albanian society acquire special importance and should be promoted.
"The successful visit of His Majesty in Tirana this year in May opened a new chapter in the friendly relations between the two countries, by helping to clearly identify specific areas of cooperation," Minister Bushati stated.

Cooperation in the framework of international organizations was another very important topic discussed during this meeting. In this regard, Minister Bushati expressed his gratitude to the King and his government for the recognition of Kosovo, as the first country in the Middle East to take this step.
King Abdullah II expressed his willingness to further promote concrete cooperation between Albania and Jordan in areas of health and tourism, where there is potential to be jointly explored.

Moreover, Minister Bushati held a meeting with the President of the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Abdur-Rauf-Rawabde and a group of senators, where they discussed bilateral relations and praised cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments as a useful tool for the comprehensive strengthening of relations between Albania and Jordan.

At the end of the visit, Minister Bushati met with the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Nayef Al-Fayez, where they talked about the intensification of bilateral cooperation in tourism as a high potential sector for both countries, through the exchange of the best practices.
