“Open Day: Scholarship Opportunities for Albanian Students of Excellence" held at the Albanian MFA
 
21 February 2017, under the auspices of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati, an Open Day event on Scholarship Opportunities for Albanian Students of Excellence was held today at the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This initiative, undertaken for the first time, aimed at introducing the opportunities that different countries of the world provide for Albanian students at various levels of education.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with 13 embassies of different countries accredited in Tirana informed at their booths more than 200 participants, students of excellence, of different educational programs offered by their countries as well as of the opportunities and procedures for obtaining scholarships.
The event, which was attended by Ambassadors of the respective countries as well as academic and cultural institutions of these countries, was opened with the welcoming remarks of Minister Bushati. “Albanian parents make countless sacrifices for their children. By focusing on youth, by opening our institution more to young people, in addition to all previous initiatives we have taken in this regard so far, we will have a new opportunity to give a further impetus to our economic and social development”- Foreign Minister Bushati voiced.
Referring to his own personal experience in drawing the attention of the state on the need of planning the development of the country, Minister Bushat, urged a better coordination of the great minds of the future, which could be used later in increasing the level of human capacity in the country. Minister Bushati emhasized that "It is the responsibility of each of us to be more idealistic, more patriots and bring back the knowledge gained from these prestigious institutions as an added contribution to the development of our country".
This Open Day was welcomed either by students or participating countries. The Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the various embassies will hold the event in other cities of the country as well.
