At the invitation of his counterpart, Mr Peter Pellegrini, the President of the Republic of Albania, Mr Bajram Begaj, paid a state visit to Slovakia from 19 to 22 May 2025. This historic visit marked the first time an Albanian president had visited Slovakia.

During his visit, President Begaj met with President Pellegrini, Speaker of Parliament Richard Raši, Prime Minister Robert Fico and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Robert Kaliňák. On 21 May, during his visit to Pezinok, he also met the Mayor of Pezinok, Roman Mács.

During President Begaj’s stay, flags of both countries were displayed on the main bridge at the entrance to Bratislava and along the main streets leading to the Slovak presidential palace in honour of his visit.
