In the evening of May 30, the Embassy of Albania organized in Ljubljana the event “Let’s tell old Albanian-Slovenian stories”, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Albania and Slovenia. A large number of ambassadors and diplomats accredited to Slovenia, politicians, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, the deputy mayor of Ljubljana, the mayor of Bled, people of culture, journalists, Slovenian friends as well as representatives and leaders of associations participated. The event opened with two songs, one Albanian and one Slovenian, and then greeted the former foreign ministers, Ilir Boçka (online) and Dimitrij Rupel, who on March 10, 1992 signed the bilateral agreement establishing diplomatic relations in Ljubljana.
During this meeting, 10 events of connections and human contacts between Albania and Slovenia were presented, which covered a period of six centuries. The speakers were acquaintances or heirs of the authors who were part of these events. They included the first Slovenian and Albanian editions by the authors Primož Trubar, 1550 and Gjon Buzuku with his Mesar, 1555, the contributions of Slovenian albanologists, the history of the old Albanian noble families, history from the period of the First and Second War and after the War the Second World War to our days. The events presented attracted the attention of those present, and even stimulated their interest, since so far they have been very little documented, known or even undiscovered. Ambassador Pëllumb Qazimi greeted the attendees.
