The NATO Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence in the Alpine village of Poljče (NW) was officially inaugurated on Tuesday, 10th November. One of the alliance's 20 excellence centres aims to become the top training centre for mountain warfare. The facility has been operating since March and currently involves Slovenia, Germany, Italy, Croatia and Austria. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, Minister of Defence, Andreja Katič, Chief of the General Staff of Slovenian Armed Forces, Ambassadors of NATO member countries, local authorities, etc. Part of the event was also Ambassador Pëllumb Qazimi.
