
H.E. Virgjil Kule
Ambassador of the Republic Albania to the Kingdom of Sweden (resident) and (non-resident) to the Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Finland and Republic of Iceland.
Mr. Virgjil Kule joined the diplomatic service of the Republic of Albania in 2018, after a long and successful experience in TV journalism, history-book writing, documentary making, media expertise, literary translation and in a decade of involvement with the international humanitarian work.
Mr. Kule is a popular public figure among Albanians all over the world.
He speaks fluently English and Italian, almost fluently French and has a good understanding of Russian and Greek languages.
Even before his graduation in journalism, in 1975, at the University of Tirana, Mr. Kule became an active member of the small team that founded the first professional TV station of Albania. From 1983 to 1991, besides being an anchorman and documentary maker, he held the position of Managing Director of the National TV
In 1993 Mr. Kule volunteered for the International Humanitarian Organization "Medecins sans Frontieres (Holland)" and joined several international teams operating in Albania, Azerbajian, Georgia and Russia.
From 2002 to 2005 Mr. Kule, back in Albania, was the managing director of two private TV stations.
In 2007 he was appointed Chief of Party (Director) of the USAID/World- Learning project that aimed at the promotion nationally and internationally of the existing religious harmony in Albania.
In 2012 he became best known as a history book writer through his detailed biography of the National Hero of the Albanians, George Kastriot Scanderbeg.
Since 2013 Mr. Kule is widowed. He has a daughter, Junida, 39, and a son, Ardian, 35.
