Albanian Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Edi Rama on an official visit to Switerland

The President of the Swiss Confederation H.E. Ms. Doris Leuthard invited on an official visit the Albanian PM H.E. Mr. Edi Rama on March 31, 2017. The delegation accompanying the Albanian Prime Minister was composed ofthe Minister for Urban Development Ms. Eglantina Gjermeni, the Minister of Social Welfare and Youth Ms. Olta Xhaçka as well as the Minister of Eductaion Ms. Lindita Nikolla. The Mayors of Durres city and Malesia e Madhe were also part of the delegation.

The Conference of Albanian Ambassadors kicked off today in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a three-day event in Tirana which gathers heads of diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Albania abroad.

The Conference of Ambassadors of the Republic of Albania is the highest platform of discussion on foreign policy, an event where Albanian representatives in the world meet and share views with the highest authorities in the country, who exert influence on the design and orientation of our foreign policy.

Visa regime for foreign citizens is defined in Law 108/13, “On Foreigners”, as well as Government decision 513/13, “On the Treatment of Foreigners”, as changed.

1)      Do not need an entry visa to Albania:

a.)Swiss citizens, for the period between 15.06.2016-15.09.2016, may enter Albania only with the ID card. Swiss citizens travel visa free to Albania, for the rest of the year, but the passport is needed;

Public Hearing for Diaspora

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Diaspora Sector, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is implementing the project "Harnessing the positive impact of migration for the development of Albania", funded by the IOM Development Fund.

 

The project aims at supporting the efforts of the Albanian government in the process of engaging Albanian communities abroad to contribute to the economic, social and political development of the country.
