Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, holds in Washington meetings with senior US representatives and European counterparts


Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj during his visit to the United States, in the framework of the Global Coalition Against ISIS, held a series of meetings with senior representatives of the US Administration, Congress and Senate, as well as his counterparts Minister of Foreign Affairs of some European countries.

Albania is to chair the OSCE in 2020, Bushati: An important achievement of our foreign policy and the constructive course pursued by Albania over the years


Albania gets the unanimous support of OSCE member states for its candidacy to chair this important organization in 2020. The decision was formalized  during the 25th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Milan. Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati, who participated in the proceedings of this meeting, said that this is the greatest foreign policy achievement, after Albania’s NATO membership, in the framework of multilateral cooperation.

Minister Bushati in Kazakhstan: We are fostering economic-trade cooperation between the two countries


The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati held  an official visit in Astana, Kazakhstan. During this visit, the first of a foreign minister of Albania during these 25 years, Bushati met with the Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was received by Senate Speaker Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
At the meeting with Kazakh counterpart, Minister Bushati emphasized the importance of intensifying economic and trade relations, through the concretization of ties in various business sectors in areas of mutual interest between the two countries.

President Meta in Turkey for the inauguration of the new Istanbul airport


The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta arrived in Istanbul, with a special invitation from the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to attend the inauguration of the large airport of this city. 

The symbol of this inauguration coincides with the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey. 

First Albania Tourism Investment Summit to take Place in November


Albania Tourism Investment Summit will take place in Albania on 26-27 November 2018. This full-day event is the Official Summit for the Albanian Tourism sector and is set to become the most established annual conference and exhibition around the Albanian and regional Travel and Tourism investment sector.
Travel and tourism is a 1.24 billion dollar industry in Albania and is rapidly growing by 6.2% annually. It is expected to become a 2.1 billion dollar industry by 2028, an indicator of Albania’s Tourism Industry’s abundant opportunities and beneficial climate for business.

Bushati- Çavuşoğlu pave the road to setting up the Albania-Turkey High-Level Cooperation Council.


Ditmir Bushati, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, received  in a meeting Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, who is conducting an official visit to our country. In the framework of this visit, the two counterparts held a joint meeting where a number of issues were discussed, with a focus on bilateral political, economic and trade relations, further cooperation opportunities between Albania and Turkey, as well as regional and international issues.

Bushati: A strong UNESCO to maintain the achievements and jointly design the future


Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati attended the event organized for the 60th anniversary of Albania’s membership in UNESCO. In his remarks, Minister Bushati focused on Albania’s relation with UNESCO, strengthening of multilateralism, investment in the new generation and reformation of the organization itself.

Bushati welcomed today Mayer: Albania, on the right track towards the European Union


Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, welcomed today the Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Stephan Mayer, who is paying an official visit to Albania.
Minister Bushati expressed gratitude to the State Secretary Stephan Mayer for Germany’s unwavering support in the integration process. Minister Bushati briefed him on the reforms, underlining that it is our government’s commitment to fulfill the recommendations, not only in the context of the EU integration process, but primarily for the future of the country.

The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Ms. Mimi Kodheli, a two-day official visit to Turkey.


The Chair of the Foreign Policy Committee, Ms. Mimi Kodheli, at the invitation of her Turkish counterpart, Volkan Bokzir, is holding a two-day visit to Turkey. Mrs. Kodheli is accompanied by a member of the parliamentary committee on Foreign Policy, Ms. Evis Kushi and Mr. Sadi Vorpsi, MP and member of Albania-Turkey Friendship Group.On the first day of the visit, the President of the ICJ was hosted by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mustaf Sentop and his Turkish counterpart, Bokzir. At this first stop Mrs. Kodheli placed a crown of flowers in honor of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.Mr.
