Bushati at the United Nations: Albania campaigns for a non-permanent seat in the Security Council


The UN General Assembly started yesterday the proceedings for its 73rd session, under this year’s theme “Making the United Nations Relevant to All People: Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Peaceful, Equitable and Sustainable Societies”. Keeping with tradition, the General Assembly held a plenary session dedicated to peace, ahead of the General Debate.

Germany guaranties support for Albania’s integration processes and internal reforms


Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati welcomed today the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Heiko Maas, who is paying an official visit to Tirana.
The visit of Minister Maas coincides with the 31st anniversary of the signing of the Protocol on Economic Development Cooperation between the two countries. In this context, materials from the Archives Fund of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs were also exhibited.

“Air Albania” launches the first flight on Saturday


“The first airline bearing the Albanian flag, Air Albania will launch the flights on Saturday. The first destination is Tirana-Istanbul-Tirana”.
Air Albania has managed to finalize the first package of flights, making for the first time a company with Albanian capital, private and public, to provide services in the field of flights.
 The first flights will be towards Istanbul, while in October, Air Albania will have other destinations in major European cities.

Minister Bushati attends the Regional Forum of OSCE Heads of Missions in South Eastern Europe


Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati took part in the Regional Forum of OSCE Heads of Missions in South Eastern Europe, which was organized under the auspices of the OSCE Secretary General, Thomas Greminger, in Durrës, on May 30, 2018.
The aim of this meeting was to address the challenges the OSCE faces in the regional security structure and improve the organization’s capacity to fulfil its role and mandate in the Western Balkans, as well as to strengthen cooperation among regional countries in security areas.

Shala River, One of the Best Destinations in Albania


Koman Lake boat tour is among the top-three things to do in Albania. Numerous travelers rank it among the best boat rides in Europe, but there is something else even more impressing in Koman, Shala River.  Shala originates in the Radohina peak in the Albanian Alps, Thethi area, and it’s a tributary river to the Black Drin. It flows for 37 km through Shala valley. The River is famous for its crystal clear water, azure color, and delicious river trout. It is a tourist destination visited by the local people as well as by international tourists.

Cultural Sites Lead Albania Rise in Visitor Numbers


2018 seems to be a promising year for cultural and historic tourism in Albania. Some 14,154 tourists visited museums during the first two months of the year. According to the data published by the Ministry of Culture, the number of visitors in museums, castles, and parks during January-February 2018 increased by 91 percent compared to the same period of 2017. Some 5,960 tourists visited museums during January-February 2017.
