2018 seems to be a promising year for cultural and historic tourism in Albania. Some 14,154 tourists visited museums during the first two months of the year. According to the data published by the Ministry of Culture, the number of visitors in museums, castles, and parks during January-February 2018 increased by 91 percent compared to the same period of 2017. Some 5,960 tourists visited museums during January-February 2017.
The same data confirm that museums were the favorite attraction for visitors while during January-February 2017 visitors preferred to explore archeological parks.
In the meantime, even the number of people that visited castles and archaeological parks increased compared to the previous year. The number of visitors in castles during the first two months of 2018 was 7,122 while for the same period of 2017 the number of visitors was 4,581.
Based on this trend, museums, castles, and archeological parks in Albania are expected to see a record number of visitors during 2018.
