
Ambassador Uran Ferizi
Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland

Dr. Ferizi assumed his current role in January 2024. He has a background in finance and scientific research. His early career was in the private sector, where he worked on feasibility studies for major infrastructure projects, including London Heathrow and Singapore Airports. Later, in investment banking, he worked on the trading desk of Bear Stearns (JP Morgan) in London, specializing in fixed-income structured products.
Dr. Ferizi studied Mathematics at Oxford University. For his Neuroscience PhD at University College London, he developed mathematical models for brain imaging, collaborating with MIT-Harvard MGH Hospital and the UK’s National Hospital for Neurology. His postdoctoral research at New York University focused on arthritis and osteoporosis, and at Stanford University he worked on early biomarkers for Parkinson’s Disease and substance addiction in adolescents.
Dr. Ferizi was born in Albania, and pursued his education and career in Albania, the UK and the USA, having spent in the latter two over 25 years. He is committed to advancing Albania’s cultural, educational, and trade relations with the UK and Ireland.
