Thank you, Madame Moderator,
We strongly believe that empowering youth through innovation is a strategic necessity for building resilient, inclusive, and future-ready societies.
Albania is advancing from digital inclusion to innovation by integrating technology in education, enhancing e-services, and fostering youth entrepreneurship, aiming to build a modern, competitive economy. Key initiatives include the Albania Digital Agenda Strategy 2022-2026 the establishment of 216 Education Smart labs and the creation of youth innovation centers to support startups.
One of the most significant barriers for young entrepreneurs remains the access to finance. To address this, we are exploring innovative financing models, including blended finance and public-private partnerships, to reduce risk and crowd in investment for youth-led ventures—particularly in high-impact sectors aligned with sustainable development.
What innovative, alternative funding mechanisms (e.g., fintech, revenue-based financing) can be deployed to bypass traditional bank lending requirements and specifically serve youth-led enterprises?
Equally important, in our view, is ensuring that innovation ecosystems are inclusive. In Albania, we are working to promote equal access to skills, finance, and digital infrastructure, recognizing that inclusion strengthens both equity and outcomes.
How can we effectively address the structural barriers that limit the participation of young women, rural youth, and other underrepresented groups?
Finally, we see international cooperation as critical. Sharing best practices, scaling successful models, and aligning efforts within global frameworks, particularly on science, technology, and innovation, will be key to accelerating progress.
Thank you
