Minister Xhaçka meets with Saudi counterpart: Albania in SC pays special attention to situation in the Middle East

Riyadh- As part of her Middle East tour, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, paid an official visit to Saudi Arabia. She was received at a meeting by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud.
The two ministers praised the holding of the Fourth Session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, in Riyadh, on 21-23 March 2022, as a good opportunity to fully assess our bilateral relations and to identify new ways to further enhance them. In this context, both interlocutors agreed that further completion of the legal framework and the intensification of exchanges of high-level visits between the two countries, are very important for the future cooperation.
The ministers shared the opinion that the good cooperation that exists between the two countries within the international organizations should further continue in the interest of both countries.
This cooperation is of particular interest taking into account the fact that Albania, as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, pays special attention to developments in the Middle East. In this context, Minister Xhaçka informed her counterpart with Albania’s priorities in the UN Security Council.
“Albania in the UN Security Council will work closely with Saudi Arabia for peace and security in the Middle East,” said Minister Xhaçka during the meeting.
After Saudi Arabia, MEFA Xhaçka will travel to the United Arab Emirates.
