Minister Xhaçka at the NATO ministerial: Albania leading role in the Security Council to bring to an end the criminal war in Ukraine

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated in the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of NATO countries on the Ukraine issue, which was held in Brussels.
Minister Xhaçka pointed out that Albania has done its part by providing assistance and fully aligning with the EU sanctions on Russia.
“We have also taken the lead in the UNSC to support Ukraine and bring this criminal war to an end, and at the same time ensure accountability for war crimes” said the Minister after the two-day meeting held on the 6-th and 7-th of April.
After the meeting, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Allies have been doing a lot, and are determined to do more, now, and for the medium and longer term to help the brave Ukrainians defend their homes and their country.
Present at the meeting was the USA Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who mentioned that during the ministerial part of the discussion was the work on the Strategic Concept, addressing new challenges. According to him NATO will adopt the new Strategic Concept at the 2022 Madrid Summit in June.
