Ministers Blendi Klosi and Klajda Gjosha participate at the conference 'A better future for the youth in the Western Balkans'

22.06.2016 - The conference for 'A better future for the youth in the Western Balkans' - organized by Slovenian MEP-esTanja Fajon and Franc Bogovic, took place today at the premises of the European Parliament in Brussels. Commissioner for Regional Policy, Mrs. Corina Cretu, and many personalities of Slovenian and Brussels institutions participated at this conference. Albania was represented at the event by the Minister of Social Welfare and Youth, Mr. Blendi Klosi, and Minister of European Integration, Mrs. Klajda Gjosha.
In view of the upcoming Summit of the Berlin Process in Paris, this conference aimed at ensuring a better perspective for the young generations in the Western Balkans.
During his speech Minister Klosi underlined that, if you have to leave behind the past, thus to guarantee a common future of the Western Balkans, it should start by increasing communication and cooperation between young people of this region. He reported on the materialization of the project to establishing the Regional Youth Cooperation Office based in Tirana, stressing that joint activities, joint initiatives, joint spaces, and the use of all that unites us, is the way to cut ties with what has divided us in the past. Minister Klosi expressed confidence that the establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office is the beginning of a better communication, a better education, the formation of a more proactive youth, more open-minded, so to improve together the future of the region.
Minister Gjosha stressed that it is the obligation and the responsibility of policymakers and government representatives to motivate young people to engage and to receive maximal benefits from new opportunities, because without youth there can be no progress in every European country. She underlined that the youth has broken old barriers long ago by promoting regional cooperation. Hence, the European Union should convey a message of prosperity, for a more secure future and solidarity. Young generations are the future and see the future only in a united Europe. Young generations are the best ambassadors for stronger relationships in the region. Support for young people means that the Western Balkan countries will be closer to themselves and to the European Union.
