Xhaçka at the Antalya Forum: The decision on the First Intergovernmental Conference is essential for proving EU’s credibility

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated in the Antalya Forum on "Neighbours See Together: The Future of Europe", attended by panelists such as MEP Sergey Lagodisnky, EU Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak and former Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
Minister Xhaçka emphasized the need for the European Union to remain attentive and closely support the region by taking pragmatic actions and consistently keeping its promises.
"Enlargement policy is based on the firm principle of assessing the merit of each country. It also requires predictability of the process through which any achievement of standards or criteria should lead progressively to the next step on the road towards the EU. "Such a process, credible and tangible, is an irreplaceable support for the difficult reforms that we are implementing", said the Minister during her speech.
Lajcak and Lagodinsky stressed that there should be no more delays in opening EU accession negotiating process for Albania and Northern Macedonia.
For three consecutive days, the Summit, the Ministerial of the South East European Cooperation Process and the first Diplomatic Forum of Antalya, Turkey, were held attended by heads of states and governments from over 30 countries where Albania was represented by a delegation led by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka.
