A sector-focused business gathering organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Athens, aimed at promoting investment and strengthening economic cooperation.
On 24 October 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Athens hosted the sectoral meeting “Building the Future”, bringing together representatives of the Albanian and Greek business communities operating in the construction, real estate and related industries.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to Greece, H.E. Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong; the Honorary Consul of Viet Nam in Albania, Mr. Sokol Topçiu; and a delegation of Vietnamese entrepreneurs, following a successful business mission to Albania.

In her welcoming remarks, the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Greece, H.E. Mrs. Luela Hajdaraga, highlighted Albania’s investment potential, particularly in construction, real estate and tourism, as well as opportunities to further expand economic cooperation between Albania and Greece.
Referring to recent economic developments, Ambassador Hajdaraga noted that foreign direct investment in Albania reached EUR 1.14 billion in the first half of 2026, representing an increase of approximately 50% compared with the same period of the previous year. During this period, the stock of Greek investment in Albania increased by 8.6%, while investment flows rose by 33.3%.

Emphasising the importance of high-quality, long-term investment, Ambassador Hajdaraga stated:
“Our ambition is not simply to attract more capital. Our objective is to promote high-quality, sustainable investments that bring new technologies, energy efficiency, high construction standards, job opportunities and long-term value to the economy and local communities.”
Particular attention was given to the role of the Albanian business community in Greece as an important bridge between the economies of the two countries, as well as to the importance of strengthening international partnerships to address the evolving needs of businesses.

In this context, discussions also addressed workforce challenges in the construction sector. The participation of Vietnamese companies specialising in human resources provided an opportunity to exchange expertise and explore concrete prospects for cooperation.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of economic diplomacy in fostering dialogue between business communities, promoting sustainable investment and identifying opportunities for joint projects.

The Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Athens remains committed to deepening economic cooperation between Albania and Greece, expanding international partnerships and promoting Albania as an attractive destination for high-quality investment, in support of sustainable development and the country’s European integration process.
Building the future together.
