On 17 January 2017, Ambassador Spasse and the Honorary Consul, Mr. Avni Hafuzi, commemorated the 549th anniversary of the death of the Albanians' National Hero George Kastrioti, known as Skanderbeg in Eger City. In their address Mr. Hafuzi recalled the historical links between the two people, the lecturer Etleva Lala spoke on Skanderbeg's symbolism and Ambassador Spasse described it as a personality that unites Albanians and as a symbol of the Albanian-Hungarian friendship. Representatives of the Albanian community living in Hungary attended the ceremony.
