11 June 202, Albania has been elected for the first time a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period 2022-2023.
The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka was present during the voting process. According to her, the historic decision  of the UN Security Council  is an extraordinary opportunity for Albania.

Albania adapts visa-free travel for Summer Season, so during the Summer Season, from April 01, 2021 to December 31, 2021, the citizens from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, India, Russia and Thailand, can travel & enter to Albania without having to obtain a visa at the Embassy of Albania. Travel can be done with a passport.

March 31, 2021, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania, Sami Shiba, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Highness, Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said. Discussed on strengthening the cooperation between two countries, especially economic field, opportunities that Albania offers for foreign investors etc.

During the visit to Oman, on the occasion of presentation of the Letters of Credentials to His Majesty, Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq, Ambassador Sami Shiba had also a meeting with the Chairman of Sabco Group LLC, His Highness Khalid Bin Hamad Bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, a Oman holding company, with whom Discussed about the possibilities of investing in Albania. Sabco Group LLC is involved in private and public sector project development, as well as in representing some leading international companies.
