Croatia, June 30, 2024 – The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, in his speech at the Dubrovnik Forum, emphasized that we, in the Western Balkans, must start bringing solutions to the table, find a way to move forward from all the problems that hinder us, which will bring more prosperity, peace and security to this region”.
“As far as Albania is concerned, he continued, there is no “uncertainty” or “doubt”. And no excuse for those who want to block. We are doing our homework to start the chapter negotiations and we must not allow any individual to enter into a country’s bilateral agenda. Albania and its partners have invested a lot in the reform of the justice system and it has started to build trust with its decisions. People need hope and we will try to bring hope, through results.
And there is something that we must always remember: the European Community was created to leave behind the wars of the past and to create a future that belongs to everyone”, said the Albanian chief diplomat during the panel on the topic: “Western Balkans – Unlocking the potential of reform”.
Minister Hasani emphasized that in addition to the EU integration process, there are other elements for success, such as the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans for further economic convergence and gradual integration.
During the one-day stay in Dubrovnik, Minister Hasani met with counterparts from Turkey, Slovenia, Armenia and exchanged views with other colleagues and high representatives of the EU, with whom bilateral relations and developments in the region were discussed.
