Wachau (Austria), June 21, 2024- The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, participated in the conference of the Group of Friends of the Western Balkans with the MFAs of the BP countries, organized in Austria on the 20th and 21st June 2024.
Minister Hasani underlined that the European Union must keep a realistic and dedicated time frame for the membership process.
“We will have enlargement at the heart of the European Union and we will very much welcome this. It is the right moment for things to become real with an ambitious agenda, and it is time to prove in the most concrete ways, everyone’s determination to move forward,” he said.
Minister Hasani emphasized that Albania has shown its determination to accelerate the integration process, showing continuous progress in undertaking reforms.
“We in Albania are ready to open as many chapters as possible during this year. There is no time to lose and we very much hope that after a month we will have the opportunity to
organize the second intergovernmental conference”, said the Albanian chief diplomat Hasani.
Minister Hasani expressed confidence that the Group of “Friends of the Western Balkans” will continue its strong support and cooperation with the countries of the region, to help fulfill all the criteria and finalize the integration in the EU
