During his official visit to Budapest, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, held bilateral meetings with the Minister for European Union Affairs, Janos Boka, and the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, István Jakab.

Discussions focused particularly on the progress made in Albania’s accession process, where Minister Hasani expressed Albania’s readiness to hold the Second Inter-Governmental Conference and to advance towards EU membership.

The involved parties agreed that Hungarian support for the accession of Western Balkan countries to the EU, foreseen as one of the priorities of the Hungarian Presidency of EU Council during the second half of 2024, is essential for the future of the region.
