
Minister Gjosha: Albania cannot lose more time, judiciary reform is crucial to the citizens and the integration process
The European Commission praises the progress on 5 key priorities
Minister of European Integration Klajda Gjosha, attended the 7th meeting of Stabilization and Association Committee, EU- Albania, held in Tirana on 9th of June, 2016. Present in the meeting were the new Director of “Western Balkans” in the Directorate-General Enlargement of the European Commission, Genoveva Ruiz-Calavera, and senior officials of Albanian institutions and European Commission.
In her remarks at the meeting, Minister of Integration, Gjosha stressed out that it is the duty of all political parties towards Albanian citizens to pass the judiciary reform as soon as possible.
“Albania has no time to lose. The country needs the justice reform, our citizens need it. The judiciary reform is crucial to the European Integration process and the opening of negotiations. European Integration remains our national priority”, Minister Gjosha said.
According to the Minister of Integration, this reform will also contribute to building a better image where Albania’s partners can finally have faith that this is a country where rule of law functions according to the basic standards of democracy.
The meeting also discussed progress regarding the work on fulfilling the 5 key priorities, where representatives of European Commission praised the progress achieved.
