Albania is re-elected at the Executive Board of UNESCO

Albania was re-elected today at the Executive Board of UNESCO, the highest executive structure of the organization, for the period 2017-2021.

As a member of the Executive Board, Albania will have the opportunity to continue to contribute to the implementation of development policies in the field of education, culture, science, communication, conservation and promotion of cultural, spiritual and natural heritage. In a message posted on social networks, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati stressed the willingness of the country to cooperate with other countries to promote peace and development through culture, science and communication.

Albania has three sites inscribed on the World Heritage list. The Albanian values and heritage are also part of the Spiritual and Cultural Heritage list as well as part of the Memory of the World programme. Over the next four years, Albania will deepen its close cooperation with the organization in a number of areas and will continue to support and promote the plans and projects of the Organization to cooperate with other countries in our region
