Several panel discussions are organized in MFA focusing on structuring and institutionalization of relations with Diaspora

In the framework of the Diaspora Summit, several discussion panels were organized in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focusing on structuring, interaction, forms and practical ways to achieve a more contemporary Diaspora organization.

One of the topics discussed was the consular services reform launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which aims to offer transparent and low cost services for the Albanian citizens. In this context, recent improvements in the legal framework, simplification and modernization of infrastructure practices have increased the speed and quality of consular services provided.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania, Ditmir Bushati and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj focused on the joint consular cooperation within the Strategic Partnership between our two countries, which is being deepened further through concrete actions, such as opening of common Consulate in Munich, following that of Milan, as well as provision of consular services in Bari, with the intention to follow this practice even in other countries of mutual interest.

Minister Bushati focused on reform of consular services, where besides increase of the range of services through application of digital technology, decrease of prices for services, use of the E-Consulate application, interaction increased between the MFA and the Albanians who live abroad and this cooperation will experience another dimension with the implementation of digital Consulate.

Minister of Internal Affairs, Saimir Tahiri spoke about the importance of the census of Albanians living abroad as an initiative that will create the opportunity to have concrete and reliable data for all Albanians living abroad, the extent of their geographical and demographic structure, in order to improve the services to be provided.

The exhibition "Documents on Albania and Albanians Diaspora" of the Arvanites, Panagiotis Koliomichalis was opened in the premises of MFA. Photographs having as their focus documents on Albania and the Albanians of the Diaspora, in the period 1500-1899, were presented in this exhibition.
